About the Event
Once upon a time, your average afternoon at the local bijou included some vintage cartoons, a newsreel, a serial chapter, some coming-attractions trailers and, finally, a cheesy B-movie feature. Longtime Toronto Star columnist and critic Rob Salem recreates that classic matinee experience with a monthly, Sunday-afternoon screening of lovingly curated retro entertainment, culled from his own vast video vault.
Concurrent with an almost four-decade newspaper career, Rob Salem was also the Sunday-night movie host on Drive-In Classics, and the founding director of the infamous B Festival and its successor, the Cult Film & Video Festival.
